Balearic Islands: A word of advice: Formentera is only 50 seamiles from the Spanish main.
The northeasternmost island of the Balearics is Menorca. It has quite a bit less inhabitants than the others, and things go their way a little more contemplative here. Do not miss the historic town Ciudadela in the fjord-like bay on the western coast. Idyllic and quiet places can be found on the northern coast in the remote bays Cala d'Addaya and Cala Fornells, while the the capital Mahon is a little more bustling and alive.
Year after year, the Balearics attract many sailing fanatics from all over the world. This archipelago called Balearics has a lot more to offer than can be perceived on first glance: remote bays with crystal clear water, ample beaches, lively towns and marinas, rough coasts and pine covered rocks. And for the times you are not sailing - there is a lot of diversion on the land, too: A shopping expedition in Palmas unique Old Town, a tour over the island in a hire car - not to mention the gastronomical range offered on the Balearics.
