The work from A to Z described many kinds of animals. This is the first edition! There are for example pictures of birds, butterflies, insects, beetles, shells, amphibians and fishes as well as numerous kinds from the range of the quadruped. The two volumes are absolutely complete in their description and in the number of copper engravings. Probably at the second volume an alphabetical index is missing. Die beiden Bände enthalten detaillierte Beschreibungen der Tierwelt von A-Z, welche mit 100 überwältigenden, ganzseitigen und handkolorierten Kupfertafeln vorliegen und durch ihr natürliches Kolorit sowie die naturgetreue Darstellungsweise überzeugen. Enthalten sind u.a. verschiedene und unzählige Arten von Vögeln/Papageien, Schmetterlinge, Insekten, Käfer, Muscheln, Amphibien und Fische sowie zahlreiche Arten aus dem Bereich der Vierbeiner. Die beiden Bände sind in ihrer Beschreibung und in der Anzahl der Kupfertafeln absolut vollständig.
